Congratulations to David Bagust (Port Macquarie GC) who won the 2022 Australian Senior Medal at The Australian Golf Club with a fine even-par round of 71 strokes. The winner was awarded a silver medal and a Golf Shop voucher worth $450.00 for his efforts.

The event was held on Tuesday, 10 May 2022 in conjunction with the 3-day NSW Senior Classic. Conditions were better than forecast with scattered clouds, easterly winds and no rain. Hole 17 remained out of play due to recent flooding, with the par 3 19th hole in play, converting the layout to a par 71.

David recorded birdies on holes 1, 19 & 15 and won by 1-shot over Ken Brewer (Newcastle GC). He also leads the NSW Senior Classic by the same margin going into the final round at Avondale GC tomorrow. The net winner was Bruce Lindner (Kooyonga GC, handicap 3) with a 70 stroke net total. Gregory Stanford (Mona Vale GC) was awarded the over 65 years division winning prize with 74 strokes gross.

The highlight for the 2017 Australian Senior Medal Champion, Stephen Gibson (St. Michael’s GC), was a hole-in-one on the 11th hole to the middle-left hole location.

Congratulations to all prize winners on the day and good luck to those competing in the final round of the NSW Senior Classic.
