Updated: 28 April

A perfect Autumn day greeted players for Round 2 of the Medal on Friday, 28 April. With great expectations of some low scoring we were not disappointed, with June Song from Avondale GC surpassing her 1st round score of 68 coming in with a brilliant new Women’s course record of 67 strokes (7-under), which included 8 birdies. Congratulations June on winning the Medal with a 36-hole gross total of 135 strokes, ahead of runner-up Belinda Ji (Concord) with 142 strokes and 3rd place Annika Rathbone (The AGC) on 149 strokes.

This was the second time that June has won the event, previously winning in 2018 as a 15 year old. Her name will be etched once again on the trophy and she receives a $300.00 Westfields voucher. June’s overall net score was the best with 139, however as a player can only win one prize the 36-hole Net was awarded to Kim Burke from Shelly Beach (for the 2nd year running) with 142 net.

All players were delighted to be served one of our famous curries for lunch and by all accounts an enjoyable two days of golf and hospitality.
