The Club Foursomes Championship was first held in 1935 however was not played between 1938-47. The event was originally played over 36-holes. In 2015 the format changed to an 18-hole qualifying round with the top four sides qualifying for match play. The Club Foursomes Handicap Championship match play was also introduced in 2015.
