Instituted in 1901. In 1904 the Cup was lost. A new Cup was presented by His Excellency the Governor of NSW, Sir Phillip Game, on the occasion of the opening of the new Clubhouse in 1933 at Kensington. Originally it was a Four-ball Competition played during the summer months.
